UNDP supports Somali delegation to take part in COP 26

2/3 of Somalis rely on the land to make a living, but climate change threatens rangelands, farms and traditional ways of life.
Although much of Somalia’s land is arid, it is still a biodiversity hotspot — but for how much longer?

Threats to peace and security

Most of Somalia’s 2.6m displaced people have fled natural disasters or conflict.
In many areas, water is getting harder to find, including here in Baligubadle, where local people rely on a reservoir built by UNDP and the Global Environment Facility.
