#UndocuMom: A story of Lidia Esperanza Melara-Suncin

My mother is Lidia Esperanza Melara-Suncin — She is a women I admire a lot because her courage to stand against domestic violence and for having the courage to fight for her children (us) when we were taken away from her at an early age. Her power to fight and do everything that she could absolutely could do to have her children back and to provide them a better life by putting money together to bring us to this country to obtain a life of dignity.
My mother is from El Salvador.
She taught me that liberation and justice comes when we take the decision to fight and to never be fearful to stand for whats right and just.
From my mother I’ve learned to seek for opportunities and to always look up for higher opportunities even when they don’t seem to be possible
Thanks to my mother, I am now doing this work, that in a way represents who I am and what I believe because it relates to her courage and how she has always spoken out loud truth.
Her courage and love define who I have become, and this is why I want to share with the world who is my #UndocuMom.
