#UndocuMom: A story of Ana

ANA, Undocumented mother of a leader in C4D

My mother is Ana — she is the reason I am who I am today.

My mother is originally from Brazil and we have lived in the US for 18 years.

My mom has taught me to not stay silent when there is injustice, to speak up when I see unfairness. She has taught me never to give up, and that eventually the forces of good always win.

My mom is fierce, she keeps going no matter what obstacles she faces, and she does it with hope for the future and a smile on her face.

Thanks to my mother, now I am a fighter. Her determination and faith in justice can be seen in my commitment to our movement. It is why I fight.

Her courage and love define who I have become. After my medical emergency last year, she gave up everything to care for me, and I would not be here if not for her hope and love.

This is why I want to share with the world who is my #UndocuMom.
