There has been a lot of buzz about “disruptive thinking”. What does disruptive thinking have to do with being a company commander?

What is disruptive thinking ? Is it a person’s ability to generate new ideas, think outside of norms and practices?

What skills does it take to be a disruptive thinker? Do they need to be observant? What about being able to associate new ideas to insights?
