There is a new web tool that can display USNG and thus be used to make hasty maps. It is the USNG Situational Awareness Viewer.

It can be found here: https://www.napsgfoundation.org/carat/planning/situational-awareness/

But it needs some configuration set up by new users. So, follow along for some USNG related information and a new short link to save on your desktop or portable device;

Select the USNG option.

On the blue banner page, select the map;

It will then open to present view with many layers and icons displayed. The user must de-select what is not needed to be seen for the present use. Basically all the options are found upper right;

One at a time configure all the options;

Lastly, the most important is to engage the USNG widget. The options are many. The first should be to turn on grid when widget is closed. The second should be to configure line labels for proper viewing. After that many things can be changed by the user such as line weight, label size, line color. This is quite remarkable.

As with all web tools, there is a layer button to switch to various map layers.

Finally, here is a short link for your use: bit.ly/SIT-view-USNG
