Why USNGAPP.ORG is even better than first thought

Our associate in Washington State sent this and it is too good not to share:

“We knew that if you opened USNGAPP.ORG in your browser when you were online then you could use the app offline. Turns out it is much better than that.

The app uses a coding technique that loads a copy of the entire app into the browsers permanent memory. This automatically happens the first time you open the app. You can then close the browser tab with the app, close the browser and turn the phone off.

If you then go to a cell dead zone, turn the phone on, open the same browser and enter USNGAPP.ORG, the app will load from the browser’s permanent memory and display your current location.

How cool is that?? !!

The short name for this webpage coding technique is “manifest” and is supported by all modern browsers. So just like you can go to an app store and download and install a native app, you can also download and install a browser app as long as the browser app uses the “manifest” coding technique.

The browser’s permanent manifest memory is not the same thing as the browser’s cache which you can clear on a desktop/laptop computer.
The only way for a typical user to clear the browser’s permanent manifest memory on a mobile device is to do a factory reset.”

The obvious use for USNGAPP.ORG is for 9–1–1 callers that are location challenged. In very little time, a call-taker could ask if caller had a smart phone and also ask them to open USNGAPP.ORG. All readers should spread the word on this. National standard coordinate system US NATIONAL GRID app that provides user position in the most succinct method possible.
