New UT Entrepreneurs in Residence Named to Assist Startup Community

UT students, faculty and staff may now access advice and ideas from a successful new venture and innovation professional. There are six new Entrepreneurs in Residence and two law clinic lawyers from industries such as education technology, health technology, financial technology and product development.

“I understand that the start-up environment requires grit and perseverance, and I enjoy supporting founders during company growth or stagnation,” said Blanca Lesmes, MBA ’11, BB Imaging president and cofounder and COO of ConfirmX. “I approach life with great passion. I want to affect change, make my community better and improve other’s ideas.”

The EIRs will be on campus two to three days per week until the end of the academic year, and appointments are preferred. Office hours will be in the Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship Conference Room CBA 6.422

These position serve in furthering the center’s mission to encourage and empower entrepreneurship and innovation through outstanding teaching, research, engagement and experiential learning.

Last year, five EIRs met with 120 companies and dedicated 81.25 volunteer hours.
