The Ringelmann effect is the tendency of individual members of a group to become less and less productive as the size of the group increases.

Indeed, when we personally experience communication breakdown, we often blame someone else — or, even more commonly — some other group. The comms team, the designers, the dev team, that company, the kids, the neighbors, etc., etc. By definition, there’s always at least one other party involved in communication, and we typically blame them. Especially when they’re not present.

User research focuses on understanding user expectations, behaviors, needs, and motivations through methodical, investigative approaches. Insights are then used to ensure that all product design decisions do benefit the user.
