Daily Devos (March 2nd)

“Surrender your heart to God, turn to him in prayer, and give up your sins — even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless.” — Job 11:13–15

What might it be like to live without secrets? What might it be like to live with nothing to hide? At one time or another (perhaps all the time…) there are skeletons in our closets: sins we haven’t dealt with or unforgiveness we’ve harbored. Eventually those things weigh on our minds and our hearts. Authenticity, perhaps a cliche word now, is much harder to have because we’re pretty much in the middle of a lie. This isn’t what God has called us to, He wants everything! He wants all the good, bad, and ugly so that we may live lives that glorify Him.

Through the rest of this week, choose to throw off the shame, surrender your intentions and actions to the Lord and live your life as an open book. (Hint: there’s so much freedom ahead for you!)
