“During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”” — Matthew 4:3 NLT
This is from the story of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness. One thing that is important to note in reading it is that the devil attacks Jesus’ identity. He asks “if you are the son of God”. This is how we are tempted as well. Satan attacks who we are. He calls it into question and tries to get us to be something that we’re not.
Now you may be saying, “I don’t know who I am or who God says I am.” The answer is with God. So ask Him! Spend fifteen minutes worshipping Him and ask Him who He says you are. He’s a father and it’s in His nature to give identity to people. Let Him give you yours. He knows better than anyone, he created you.
