Daily Devos (October 21st)

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” — James 1:27

Weakness comes in many forms. Because we live in a broken world, sin does not discriminate and affects all our communities. Rich or poor, young or old, any race or religion…stress, grief, and heartache can touch anyone.

Sometimes it’s hard for us to understand how we can relate or better yet, even help those in need. But God admires our heart towards the less fortunate.

Pray today for the Lord to open your eyes to an opportunity to help. It may be praying for someone, carrying groceries, raking leaves, or just simply being a good friend. It can be larger, more ambitious ones too! Trust the Lord to take you on an adventure of servanthood!!
