“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” — ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1–2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

There’s no shame or condemnation in Jesus, my friends. That’s some hella great news. But to what extent do we actually live in the life of the spirit?

Growing up as a Christian, I had a hard time practicing this in my daily life because I was, seemingly, sinning. It wasn’t until I switched my perspective that I realized this in my life. I switched my focus from my own sin and my own actions and put them on Jesus. It put the pressure off of me and on to Him. And he can take it! It’s a part of His finished work on the cross.

Keep in mind that it wasn’t a one time perspective shift. It took some time for me to not feel guilt anymore, but it happened. So the next time you feel guilty because you’ve sinned again, remember that Jesus has removed all guilt and shame. He’s not condemning you so don’t condemn yourself! Instead focus on Him! Think on His life giving spirit and His goodness instead!
