Where The Idea Came From

The idea for University Saver didn’t happen overnight. When Max was in High School he decided to create his own summer job at the age of 14. During that summer Max went around and made deals with the best restaurants in his hometown of Manhattan Beach, and created the notorious Manhattan Saver discount. These quickly sold out at his local high school and was a huge success for the businesses that participated. The cards were so popular even the superstar NBA player Blake Griffin couldn’t live without one!

Max continued this program the following summer and eventually made a blockbuster deal with his High School Water Polo team to acquire the company. After the acquisition, Manhattan Saver transitioned into the Mira Costa Aquatics Fundraising Program and Max was given the task of making a series of discount cards to raise money for his team. This was no small task and Max knew he needed help, and knew exactly where to find it. Enter Davis Richardson.

Davis and Max met nowhere else then at a party, and immediately recognized each other’s common interested in entrepreneurship and deal making. That night they each knew they needed to go into business together and shortly after that became a reality. For the remaining 2 years of high school Max and Davis successfully executed the Mira Costa Aquatics Fundraising program and raised thousands of dollars for the club.
