What causes hair loss during pregnancy?

Hormonal shift

It is normal in some cases to experience hair loss during pregnancy, particularly early pregnancy, usually due to stress or shock, some women may notice hair thinning and shedding.

Telogen effluvium is the name of the condition, and it affects a small number of women during pregnancy.

Gestational Hypothyroidism

Although uncommon, thyroid function can also slow down while a woman is pregnant.

This disorder, known as hypothyroidism, begins when the thyroid gland does not make or secrete enough hormone.
