Indianapolis’ Guide to the Best Places for a Night Out

Night owls rejoice — your nights out and about Indianapolis will never be the same again with our recommendations!

Let loose at Libertine

If you’re looking for a night spot that offers a nice and cozy vibe, Libertine is the right place for you. With its 1930’s Prohibition-era atmosphere, matched with its superb cocktail drinks and tasty gastropub bites, it is of no wonder that Libertine was awarded one of the Best Bars in America. Feast on their retro-pop culture-themed cocktails such as JFK (white rum with blackberries and thyme), Marie Antoinette (combination of sparkling wine with jasmine flavor and angel food cake), Jim Morrision (rye whiskey with raisin, orange and herbal tones) and more. Complement your booze with their fancy bites, such as the must-try Deviled eggs or Brussels sprouts and broccoli. Not sure on what to try? Let the bartenders whip up the perfect drink just for you.

Be inspired by science at Broken Beaker Distillery

Step into the world of Broken Beaker Distillery, where science is fused with the art of spirits. Get intrigued by their great experiments that resulted into creative concoctions such as E=MC2 (white whiskey, ginger syrup, lime juice), French 76 (vodka, syrup, lemon juice topped with champagne), Molecule Mule (vodka, muddled lime, ginger beer) and more — all served up in science laboratory-inspired glasses! Pair your drinks with their Crostini, Quesadilla, Mac n’ cheese or Panini and you’ll have yourself a wonderful meal. We love how this trendy bar rediscovers science with their fun facts on the coasters, vintage science education posters and molecule models of distillations. And oh, don’t forget to take a Skelfie, it’s a must!

Plot a night out at Plat 99- Mixology Lounge

Looking for an upscale bar that has a vibrant pulse with full-crafted cocktails and delicious bar snacks? The Alexander’s Plat 99- Mixology Lounge best fits the bill. Sample their expertly mixed drinks such as L’heure verte (St. George absinthe, raw sugar cube, ice cold water), Miley’s Mouthwash (black tea vodka served up and with an egg white) and more. They can also make custom cocktails if you’re not impressed (though we’d bet not) with their cocktail menu. Along with the concoctions and complimentary bags of truffle popcorn, the gorgeous glass pendant lanterns hanging over the bar area and outdoor patio with fire box and lounge chairs are the other highlights of Plat 99, so make sure not to miss them out!
