Where Do You Fit In The Sharing Economy?

As UrbanShare on-line marketplace is work in progress, and we are trying to understand exactly who our customers are going to be, it helps to take a look at the current participants of the sharing economy in order to better cater to the needs and pain points of our future users.

I got the chart below off LinkedIn, it’s quite comprehensive and, I think, reflects current on-demand work reality nicely. Where do you fit in? How about 5 years from now? Totally fine to fall into 2–3 categories simultaneously, I believe.

1. The Career Freelancers: Happily building a career through independent work.
2. The Business Builders: Driven by the desire to be their own boss.
3. The Side Giggers: Looking to find financial stability by supplementing existing income.
4. The Passionistas: Looking for the flexibility to do something they love.
5. The Substituters: Replacing a traditional job that is no longer available.
