Learn Coding The Easy Way..?
The journey from 0 to now.
I’m just starting on this journey of “learn how to code because computers are awesome and fun and so are puzzles and math is pretty dank and programming would be so much more fun than working at a grocery store!”
I am a 20-something year old from the Midwest (more specifically, Chicago/Chicagoland) who transplanted to the Bay Area (more specifically, Oakland) a year ago. My background is mostly in writing/fine art/political organizing/social justic-y sorts of things, but I have a strong passion for problem solving and my approach to tackling puzzles is mostly mathematical.
I’m starting this blog as a place to talk about the resources I’m using, track my progress and to document my path to learning how to code.
I’ll be using this blog as a space to talk about what I’m doing and all of that, as well as posting to Github. The first resource I plan on working through is Learn Python the Hard Way. After which, I plan on tackling a few of the free Stanford computer science courses. Before now, I attempted to work through CodeAcademy, but I found frequent flaws in their exercises. So I’m looking to find and use other resources.
I would absolutely love if any of my followers have any additional resources they’d like to suggest. As of now, my end goal after finishing Learn Python the Hard Way and a few other courses is to enroll in a program like Dev Bootcamp, HackReactor or any similar program. I’m also planning on plugging into the coding resources at Noisebridge, the San Francisco hackerspace.

That’s it for now. I plan on updating each day that I’m able to work through some of Learn Python the Hard Way.
