Beautiful weather and a lovely view of Moscow were the backdrop for International Blockchain Consulting Group’s event this past Saturday, July 22nd. The event brought together legal and business experts to share their expertise and advice to entrepreneurs looking to do an ICO, along with the investors who are interested in investing in them. The intimate setting allowed attendees to talk directly with the experts, which got the conversation going and made the event much more interactive. Thus we found Vladimir Smerkis, co-founder of The Token Fund, talking to an inquisitive and receptive audience of blockchain enthusiasts.

Loved the location

Vladimir gave a talk about the features of investing in cryptocurrencies, including the benefits, the disadvantages, and the things a savvy investor should be looking for in a project they’re interested in. As the co-founder of The Token Fund, Vladimir was able to leverage his experience to provide his own unique insights into this surging industry.

“Well, I didn’t exactly give away any of my trade secrets, but I was able to have some very productive conversations with engaging, bright people who are either already involved in this industry, or who are looking to make an entrance. The technology has been around for a few years, but the it’s just now beginning to become visible to wider society, which of course means it’s attracting a lot of interest from traditional investors, as well as startups that want to raise money without giving away all of their equity to venture capitalists.”

Among other speakers were Elina Sidorenko, who is directly involved in helping develop and draft laws governing the regulation of ICOs and cryptocurrencies. She held court and discussed the potential future of ICO and cryptocurrency law in Russia, which is looking very bright as government authorities have signaled their willingness to embrace this new technology.

Ekaterina Znamenskaya focused more on the business oriented legal details, such as questions of tax optimization and reporting, as well as risks for the issuer and legal conversion. It’s an underappreciated subject for many startups, but it’s absolutely crucial for making sure a project is 100% in the white when they launch.

A big thanks goes to IBCG for putting the event together, as well as to the partners and sponsors who helped make it possible. It was a great time, and these kind of informative events help make the blockchain economy stronger.

— Thanks, The Token Fund
