Yield: 12 Deviled Egg Halves
Ingredient Checklist
- 6 Large eggs
- 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoonSmoked paprika
- Salt and pepper To taste
- Chopped chives (for garnish, optional)
Instructions Checklist
Step 1
- Hard boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove the pan from the heat, cover it, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.
- Then, drain the hot water and immediately run cold water over the eggs to stop the cooking process.
- Peel the eggs once cool enough to handle.
- Tip: You can also steam the eggs for a foolproof hard-boiling method. Steam them for 15 minutes for perfectly set yolks.
Step 2
- Prepare the filling: Cut the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks.
- Place the yolks in a bowl and mash them with a fork until smooth.
- Tip: Use a pastry cutter or a potato masher for a finer crumble if desired.
Step 3
- Mix the filling: Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks. Stir until well combined and creamy. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Step 4
- Assemble the deviled eggs: Spoon the filling mixture back into the egg whites.
- Garnish with chopped chives (optional) and serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Tip: Use a piping bag for a neater presentation when filling the egg whites You can get a Free E-Book with more Keto recipes here; https://zulumanzwthescientsit.aweb.page/Free-Keto-Book
