Goals

I’d like to pay attention to my vocabulary. By saying this I mean not only the ability to learn a lot of new words but also the ability to remember something I’ve learned before. Too many words are recognized by me only when I read an article or a novel. So what am I going to?

I separate words mostly into two sections: phrasal verbs and just words. I will write in my notebook at least one short story (7–8 sentences) for 5 words or phrasal words. And also I will make up the same task orally every day.

I shouldn’t forget about topics. Last year we read “Don’t look behind you” and I adored the idea of paying attention to words that belonged to different topics like emotion, appearance and so on. I have some of these topics on my computer where I added a new one: “Synonyms”. For example, there you may find a lot of ways to say “ to rely on”-to bank on, to count on, to fall back on someone.

And finally I would like to tell about phrasal verbs. I’ve bought a wonderful book with 188 exercises for phrasal verbs and I hope to do exercises for 2 phrasal verbs every day.

Speaking about my groupmates’ goals, i should say that i’ve read Anastasia Milkovich’ s post. I adore her enthusiasm but i hope that she knows exactly how she is going to make her dreams about improving her English come true.

I also read Dr. Wei’s post and would like to admit that it’s great that she’s chosen goals that are connected not only with studies but with other aspects of our life.

I hope that this year will be productive for all of us.
