What’s your name, major and hometown?
Vanessa Dennis, Marketing and Advertising, Pasadena, California.
What would be the most useful thing for me to know about you as a student?
I enjoy being creative but I can be a perfectionist. I sometimes get very frustrated when something does not turn out how I expected.
What do you wish was different about school?
I wish there was a better testing system. I do not believe that tests are the best way of measuring knowledge.
Describe a moment in school last year when you felt really engaged. Why do you think that moment was such a positive one for you?
In my Sports Promotion class we were tasked with working the Fox Sports to design a promotion plan for the 2017 Men’s US Open of Golf. My group and I were challenged and given creative freedom to come up with and present a plan in front of many Fox Sports Executives.
What do you think teachers think about you, and what do you wish they’d think about you?
I think that some teachers may think that I do not give 100%, I wish they would understand that the subject or area they teach is not something I am passionate about.
Tell me about a teacher who you feel knew you well. What kind of student were you in his or her class? What did he or she do to get to know you?
Dr. Milovic, a Marketing professor, I believe knew me well. I was constantly engaged in his class and always participating. I do not think he went out of his way to get to know me but my interest in the class combined with the small class size allowed for a closer relationship.
If you could build a school, what would it look like?
MY school would be modern, colorful, with all the latest technology. I would love to have big sculptures throughout the campus. State of the art facilities for both sports and the arts.

What makes a weekend day great for you?
A great weekend day includes having brunch at a new restaurant on nice sunny day and hanging out with friends.
