Governance Proposal v1.2.0 Successful
The Vara Network developer community is pleased to announce the successful implementation of the governance proposal for v1.2.0 and runtime version #1200. This update significantly improves the user experience and strengthens the Vara ecosystem.

After the successful tests for the v1.2.0 tag, a proposal was made to incorporate these updates. The proposal included upgrading crates to “v1.2.0” and updating the Node bin. Notable features of the release include:
- Improvements to the user-space like optional gas limit argument, enhanced error description and compile-time code requirement checks.
- New RPC call implementation
- Rent distribution redesign
- A module for adding builtin actors
- Runtime enhancements and bug fixes, including new code restrictions.
The community voted and approved the updates through a governance proposal. The upgrade was activated at block number 10849150, integrating the new version onto the mainnet on Wednesday, 3 April 2024 at 12:15:03.001 PM UTC
