When you are betrayed, and in pain, you can choose to bottle it up. You can choose to prioritize the response of men over your own feelings. You can choose jealous over crazy.

Lemonade was a choice not to.

In my opinion, caging parts of ourselves because of a preoccupation with how men view us, is colluding in our own sexist oppression. It’s not healthy. Women have the right to feel and express the full spectrum of human emotion, not just those that are most palatable to men.
