
Smart people pride themselves on their rationality; after all, it’s one of their best traits, the quality responsible for so many blessings in their lives. But rationality often cripples their ability to deal with their feelings, which isn’t so unusual (being human and all), but the smart person often doesn’t know he is not good at dealing with feelings. And here’s why: he quickly translates those feelings into an idea, which enables him, he believes, to get outside of the feelings — and so get a handle on them.
