How to ‘sweat’ your LMS investment — a note from Velpic CEO Russell Francis

As the CEO of a SaaS based Learning Management System (LMS) I’m often challenged by clients who want to know how they can maximise their investment in our product. My advice is simple, make your LMS part of your day-to-day operations. Learning is not like Christmas, it should not happen just once a year!

One way of using an LMS that will see it become part of your staff’s day-to-day processes is Knowledge Sharing. As a Business Manager myself, this is something I’m quite passionate about. Knowledge Sharing is the process of peer-to-peer information exchange in the workplace. How do the experts in your business relay their skills to the newbies?

Knowledge Sharing done well will have a significant impact on your business. How does your business protect its valuable IP, its process, its implicit knowledge, the things your company does that makes it unique? Do you have a repository for the information that is needed for your business to function and grow?

With the right LMS and motivation to improve your business, you can embrace Knowledge Sharing and facilitate the exchange of information between your staff and at the same time build up a library of information that is in effect the essence of your business, it’s what makes you unique!

I’ve just written a blog article article on the Velpic website that you can read here that further introduces Knowledge Sharing and I’m also presenting a webinar on Tuesday, August 23 at 1pm AEST/ 11am AWST that you can register for here. It would be great to see you online!
