It is well known in the science community mostly through epidemiological studies that the more processed food is and stripped of its original properties the less nutritious it is. Therefore, wheat gluten is junk food in disguise as is TVP produced from soy.
Anyone with a meat craving should incorporate it but at a much lower level than what I saw when living in Canada. A T-bone steak is just overkill. The most healthy diets in the world (Mediterranean and traditional Chinese) both treat meat etc. more as ‘condiment’ than main dish.
