What critics of Suicide Squad are forgetting

The movie is one of those movies where you put on at a big party and let your guests enjoy it.

Let’s put things into perspective :

  • It was a movie not made to be an Oscar movie.
  • It was not a movie made to speak about any kind of social issue (racial things with Deadpool and the unhealthy relationship of Harley with Joker).
  • It is not a movie you’re supposed to bring your six year old (or similar age range) kids to, the movie clearly marketed more for the 16+ crowd
  • This movies does NOT solely focus on Batman or Joker thus, complaints about them not having enough screen time are just silly.
  • Joker was a mash of different Joker takes we have seen over the years, while I found his attire questionable the entire film (blame the makeup artist and costume designer here), Jared gave a great performance as the infamous Joker
  • Joker and Harley have a very unhealthy relationship. We see Harley question this (the scene isn’t clear, but you could make the argument she is) briefly, but the film is NOT focused on solely Harley or Joker

Honestly, I’m ecstatic we finally got a Harley in the cinema universe. The actress did a great job playing her. The fans are giving mixed reviews on the film and for myself, I enjoyed it. I think people really just need to stop taking cinema so damn seriously and enjoy it for what it is in this movie’s case, a film to entertain you, and just entertain you.
