Have you ever been in a state of deep concentration where you seem to get the most work done? We’ve all been in this state at one point or another. This state of mind is not so easy to achieve because it involves blocking out all distractions and focusing on a single thing.

I like to call this state of deep concentration, zen and call the activator of this state, muse. Whenever you lose your muse, it’s your sole responsibility to find it again. You produce your best work when you have your muse with you. Your muse keeps your creative side active. It stands as the source of inner motivation. It brings you closer to perfection at every point. It’s like the zone in the 2020 movie, Soul.

If you ever find yourself searching for your muse, just look into your past in times where you had it all together. Where your muse was in full swing. Consider those instances and try to glean inspiration from them. Then seek out your muse once more.

How to never lose your Muse

First off, your muse isn’t something that stays with you forever. Sometimes, you lose it. One way to keep in contact with your muse is to document your life in a journal. Search for periods where you had the highest level of motivation and write them down. Make it really easy to find this documentation. You could even build an index at the end pages of your journal where you document the days you talk about Muse among other topics.

After looking into your past, look to the future and formulate a strategy for rediscovering your muse.

You owe it to yourself to produce great work

The world is full of mediocre content. The rules have changed. You no longer compete within your community or locality. You compete with a global community of creators producing their best work. You could analyze this situation and easily give up, but you have to remember that you have infinite potentials. You can compete and win globally. That’s why you owe it to yourself to produce great work. Your best work.

Since you produce your best work when you have your muse, it’s important that you keep your muse alive.

Things that could bring you to Zen

  1. Music
  2. An interesting problem
  3. A pressing goal
  4. A research work
  5. A repeated-cyclic activity like working out, chewing gum, etc.

You can leverage any of these channels to achieve zen, to find your muse. You can also mix and match. I find that I’m most productive when I’m listening to gothic music while chewing gum. It brings me to an instant zen state and keeps me there.

If there’s something you’ll take from this post, it should be this:

Always be experimenting on ways to acheive the zen state. Always keep your muse alive. Draft out paths to finding your Muse whenever you lose it. If you ever find yourself backsliding or being distracted, kill the distraction from the source and keep producing great work.

I hope you achieve zen more often and always find your muse. Thank you for reading. Adios ✌🏽 🧡.
