Announcing Our Winners

I am thrilled to announce the recipients of our ViewFind Visual Storytelling Grant for stories about race and ethnicity:

Jonah Markowitz for “Three Bags Full”
Daniella Zalcman for
“Signs of Your Identity”
Michael Vince Kim for
“Koreans of Kazahkstan”

Student Winner: Sophia Nahli Allison for “A New Hope”

Each of these four photojournalists will be receiving $5,000 to support their projects, support and mentoring from ViewFind’s Editorial Team, and publication of these finished projects on our ViewFind platforms.

Our three judges, Mike Davis, Yukiko Yamagata, and Kenny Irby were so impressed by the strength of the applications that they wanted to recognize three additional submissions with a Judge’s Special Mention:

Ian Willms for “As Long As The Sun Shines”
Cécile Smetana Baudier for “Génération Identitaire”
Jorge López Muñoz for “El Clot”

We wish we could offer more than 4 grants but we do want to also recognize the following Semi-Finalists, whose projects are all also exceptionally strong:

Bob Miller
Stacy Kranitz
Raymond Thompson Jr.
Paolo Marchetti
Paula Bronstein
Mark Kauzlarich
Andrew Renneisen
Gabriela Bulisova
Nick Oza
Christopher Capozziello
Oscar B. Castillo
Conor Ashleigh

Olga Ingurazova
Juan Carlos

Thanks for believing in ViewFind and supporting us this past year! More to come!

All the best,
