Mother nature can be healing in so many ways, which is why I was so excited when Iris B. Stehn tagged me in this writing prompt from Yana Bostongirl and B.R. Shenoy — I don’t know why it won’t let me tag B.R. but here is a link to her page.

You can find the link to the prompt here:

Connecting with Nature Has the Potential to Change Your Life | by B.R. Shenoy | Coffee Times | Mar, 2022 | Medium

Most of my writing, whether it be poetry or short story has a large amount of influence from nature. I try to embody the essence of nature from sights to smells and often times sounds. Birds are often a symbol I use in my writing — as are the sun and moon.

When I heard about this prompt I finished and published an ekphratic poem I had been working on about a mulberry tree.

Beneath a Mulberry Tree. An ode to nature and love | by Vincent Kühl | Mar, 2022 | Medium

Another poem which plays with the night sky and twinkling stars is “The Cafe at Night” — also an ekphratic poem about a different Van Gogh painting.
