Richness & Depth

Persian rugs are my latest fascination. To think that one person can put together such a labour of love, we’ll atleast that’s what I think. Some of these rugs can be worked on for over 12 months depending on the complexity of the pattern.

One of the sales persons at a persian rug gallery told me that such a rug can last for generations. Moreover it becomes an antique piece as it ages. I must admit that the price tag associated with these keepers is jaw dropping. I remember how I casually stepped into one store on a Sunday mid-morning. My partner had said to me “you have to see these amazing rugs” and I thought “oh what the heck, let’s hear it”. The particular one that had caught our eye was going for 80k, but the mid-eastern salesman said “ fo’r u my v’rend I giv 50% ov and u gettit vo’r 40"

So, since that day I learned that rather pay a fortune now and have the persian legacy reside with for generations to come.
