Relentless Positive Mentality
Life comes at us in such a way we have to be relentless in achieving the things that matter so much to us. This is the mindset of those that are about possibilities. Either we are active in this pursuit and mindful of it or we react most times to caprices that could be avoided. The main thing is that the grind is real one way or the other. I don’t like to sound like the motivational speakers I admire that you do too because they have nicer platforms and have achieved more. This post also serves as a reminder to myself.
I first read a variation of these words in another writer’s platform, "From now on be relentlessly positive about everything you do." I relate to this on so many levels. A few years back I had written about the long-term mentality which below the surface connects to this discourse. How? Mindfulness. We gotta be mindful of what matters and be relentless in achieving that. Most times distractions and traps mask attraction so one must develop the necessary mindset.
Just yesterday, someone talked to me about focusing on my own stuff and averting my eyes from certain things. Concentrating on my own future and efforts rather than on someone else’s because you never know.
Mentality is a cute word you see. It means intelligence, IQ, attitude, outlook, psychology, personality, and all other fine synonyms I like to use. I have written about it also and the summary is protecting yours. I am tenacious about mine because this is the one thing that defines us. Our mentality encompasses a lot of processes and experiences life offers us and we effected through our actions. Our environment and exposure count too. All of the things, probably, that constitute our behaviors add to our mental disposition.
However, there is still a definition missing here and it turns out to be the important one. Since mentality also stands for brain power then it is uncountable what makes it up and might be hard to fully grasp or apply. To me, mentality is the refined total of everything I have listed above. A sieving and choosing, a determined decision, a state of mind cultivated over time and dully maintained.
This approach gives me the power to shape my life how I want it. This reduces blame which is a waste of time. You don’t want to constantly attribute a certain negative behavior to someone when you can turn it around into something positive. I am not playing down trauma here or real causes but I am talking about taking back power. The thing about blame is the inherent surrender whereby one believes the other person yields everything and you’re just a puppet especially when it is your own life and means.
A positive mentality is refreshing to keep. It is hard to maintain though but very important. I have heard sayings like God grants us what we ask him or that we are saved by what we believe in and other talks like that. There is this willful energy I believe all of us possess as unique humans made more effective by our efforts and mentality.
The power of imagination, hope, and faith. The little truth about manifesting that which we focus on, the tenets which can be found in various sage advice including, "Show me who your friends are and I would tell you who you are", "Birds of the same feathers flock together," and "You are what you think about." The accuracy of these statements is not as important as what they point at which is active self-awareness. Maintain a relentless positive mindset because those who throw stones will only be disappointed and restless. Amen.
Maybe our lives right now are the total of our choices, decisions, thoughts, influences, and so on. I think someone said this but just as I write it I want us to also give ourselves a breather because life is not easy and we don’t live backward to have benefits of hindsight. But since the future is how we approach things, making the choices that we are aware of and help us with a stable mindset become more important. Some decisions are harder than others sometimes. Tune your minds to the necessary frequency. You have to believe that something like that exists.
Depending on our outlook (read mentality) we notice, learn, behave, act, or react to certain stimuli differently. So if at this point in time, you’re still in a dilemma or just blowing about in the wind, taking time to set your perspective straight should be the priority because it affects every other thing and once you have determined, you gotta be relentless about it. If not for any reason just because we all are special and there is no replacing what anybody brings to this whole order.
