I have similarly thought that I would scrape the white off me if I could.
I have been asked to write a piece on what it’s like to give up male privilege.

Did we ever embrace “male privilege?” Did it even fit? Or were some of us disgusted with being treated as boys.

Extreme example, did Germans in 1930s Germany have “National Socialist privilege?” Did Jews who could pass as Germans have such a privilege? I am not talking about kapos here. Some might wish to push it that way. Some folks went to ground. Was that a “privilege?”

My brother laughed years later about when I was still a “boy” and when adult men trying to be father figures would try to engage me and how I clammed up and squirmed. Because someone pushes something on you does not mean its a “privilege.”
