Elements of this piece border on being a straw man argument. Rather than focusing on what people get wrong why not acknowledge what they get right? This vote would’ve helped the push towards making healthcare more affordable. It reminds me of the Democrats voting on the carbon tax this summer and initially rejecting it — that sort of faux commitment tends to get politicians in trouble with more hard-line voters.
