Introducing: Vorto Gaming
Over the past decade, gaming has evolved at an unprecedented rate of change.
It has overtaken other entertainment industries like film, theatre, music and television to become the zeitgeist of a generation.
During this evolution, the industry has developed a plethora of unique ways to make gaming more engaging, more social and more accessible; we’ve seen that with the sheer number of people who are now actively gaming, from a variety of demographics, all over the world.
But whilst a global pandemic has forced us to change and adapt our behaviour, habits and routine — causing many industries to struggle — gaming has flourished.
Why you ask? Well it’s quite simple.
Gaming no longer requires face-to-face interaction.
Why play local, when you can play with the world?
We’re now connecting with an online community that as of 2020 eclipsed audiences of 2billion, who all share a common interest; whether you’re in Sweden, South Korea, France or the Philippines. The extent to which you now connect with other gamers is totally in your hands — it’s limitless.
The global expansion of the industry is impacting every aspect of our culture — the way we play, the way we work and the way we live. But whilst the elite level of competitive gaming creates icons who share multi-million dollar prize pots and sign endorsement deals with the worlds biggest brands, at a recreational level the rewards are minimal.
Something has to change.
We have been on the frontline and experienced the growth of gaming firsthand, embedded in some of the biggest publishers, developers and brands. For many years this was our universe and we were immersed in what quickly became a multi billion-dollar industry.
We are still on the frontline as players, dedicating minutes, hours, days, weeks and months to gameplay. For us, gaming has always been more than a hobby. It’s our inspiration. But we continue to get little in return.
Amidst the advancements in technology, the introduction of in-game currencies and the relentlessness of new releases, we feel the industry has forgotten about some of the fundamental aspects of gaming culture. Like many of you, we have grown tired of spending our time and money in virtual worlds with no reward. Meanwhile, publishers are having their cake and eating it.
The market needs to be more democratic.
At Vorto Gaming, we’ve set out to create an economy owned by the players, for the players.
A free-to-access community, with its own digital currency — Vorto Token — that we believe will shape a new era of gaming experiences that are not just profitable for the developer and publisher, but for the gamer too.
The model is simple: the more you play, the more you earn.
Play-to-earn gives power and control back to the players. It celebrates their dedication to creating bespoke virtual spaces, taking on challenges and in-game experiences with the potential for financial reward.
What we really love is that you don’t have to be a competitive gamer or esports icon to succeed. Here, everyone gets an equal opportunity to profit.
That was our aim from the beginning. To give every day gamers a bigger slice of the pie.
And we’re on the cusp of it — one Vorto token at a time.
