Interesting read. I would like to read thoughts on the future of labour from ML developers and technology engineers. As ML and DL being advanced as they are still serve more of an “document automation” purposes, making routine tasks easier. As an example, with rise of Web and web search we got a lot of routine and manual tasks of searching and inputing a lot of text to find information. Of course it became easier then it was with libraries, but new technology introduced new workflow and routines. Computer and ML are just tools to solve problems.

If we consider AI in physical shape of a robot then we obviously lack in energy, materials, control areas.

Also you didn’t touch developing countries and China in your research. What is their place in automation and AI.

For instance, if AI and later, robots, hep,us with more trivial or routine tasks, wouldn’t it mean that we can concentrate on more advanced — space travels, bioengineering, food and other fields.
