On June 17, 2015, nine members of the Charleston, South Carolina community were murdered as they sat together during a Bible study at Mother Emanuel Church. Their murderer sought to tear the community apart by specifically targeting African American victims. But instead of sparking enmity and fear, the attack inspired an immense outpouring of compassion, support and unity.

This is the story of Kindred Kids, an initiative started by WINGS for kids in response to the tragedy at Mother Emanuel. The initiative brings together kids from diverse backgrounds and helps them build friendships and learn to understand each other in new ways.
