LIVESTREAM — Starts in Rome with Asia Argento!
We are excited to announce that Women’s March Global Livestream will start in Rome at 0600hrs EST (Eastern Standard Time) on 20 Jan 2018. The livestream will be running throughout the weekend on both Women’s March Global and Women’s March Facebook pages.
Women’s March Rome is leading the Global livestream with their #MeToo event with headline speaker, Asia Argento who was one of the first actresses to come out against Harvey Weinstein. Argento received numerous death threats and had to leave Italy for a period after she spoke out because of the abuse that she faced and continues to face:
“I have been called a prostitute and a whore and have been vilified by the media. I have not seen this happen anywhere else. My fight in this revolution this year is a continuation of the movement last year. We have achieved a lot as far as women’s truth finally being heard and believed. But for me, as a human being, it is important to keep fighting in this country (Italy) where the patriarchy is still very present to the point that no woman in my industry has spoken in solidarity with me.
So on Saturday, I will address the great achievements that have come from women speaking their truth and urge others to continue to speak truth to power. The violence I have received is a testament of why I will continue to speak the truth. Against the truth, justice must prevail.
I am coming to testify that things for women in Italy can change, will change, and they might take longer, but if we keep striking the iron when it is hot, consciences will awake and we must be the ones to awaken them.”

La diretta inizierà a Roma con Asia Argento! Siamo lieti di annunciare che la diretta di “Women’s March Global ” inizierà a Roma alle ore 18:00, il 20 gennaio 2018. La diretta sarà in onda per tutto il weekend in entrambe le pagine Facebook: “Women’s March Global” e “Women’s March”.“Women’s March Rome” inizierà la diretta globale con l’evento#MeToo con l’oratrice principale, Asia Argento, che è stata una delle attrici a prendere posizionecontro Harvey Weinstein. Quindi sabato, parlerò delle grandi conquiste delle donne, che hanno detto la verità, e solleciterò le altre a continuare a dire la verità al potere.
La violenza che io ho ricevuto è una testimonianza del perché io continuerò a dire la verità. La giustizia deve prevalere sulla verità.
