You are brave to share this, and I applaud you. I’m sure the people who most need to read this will not, and I’m sure the few who do will have things to say similar to what has been said to Ahmed. This country will only reach our full potential when we strive to reach it for EVERYONE. The baseline is not your religion, not your skin color, not your gender or sexuality. The baseline is your character and your actions. When he made his clock, Ahmed showed how American he was by embracing the entrepreneurial and creative spirit that has fueled our country. For that he was arrested. This is not the country we should be building, because, in fact, this isn’t building, this is self-destruction. Continuing down this road will end poorly for everyone.
