A 200 written submission of the film
•A single Steadicam sequence shot that shows an atmospheric change or records movement
I chose the technique which is Opening sequence. The technique is from a famous movie: Down by law. Both the director and screenwriter of this film are Jarmusch, Jim. I followed a small piece of film: pan shoot of the elevation of a New Orleans. Shooting way was people sitting in the car and the camera moved along with the car. This technique like a camera trip which is using very simple way to record the building and people in the city. Sitting in the car through different angles and speed to shoot the city
I followed this technique because I often shoot the video to record the place where I went in my free time. In my film, I took the train and buses to view the scene. I chose different shooting time to show the city at different times even though screen is black and white. I do not have background music but use the original sound because I also want to record people activity. I used two different directions to travel, and finally left by train to express the end of the camera trip
I shot different places in city, such as the bus station, factories, houses, stores and trains. They are part of city and also formed the city.
