Cllr Warren Ward: The selling of drugs to vulnerable young people is a new low for our community.

Cllr Warren Ward releases statement on the recent incident at New Ferry Park, involving the selling of ecstasy to a 14 year-old austisic Young person.

The selling of drugs to vulnerable young people is a new low for our community.

New Ferry Park should be a place to feel safe and for families to enjoy – It is completely unacceptable for it be used as a place for young people to sell drugs.

There has been a substantial amount of issues in New Ferry Park involving young people causing Anti-Social Behaviour. It is clear that these issues are escalating rapidly.

I am in the process of contacting the local neighbourhood police inspector as well as the cabinet members for neighbourhoods & public health to ask for more to be done to tackle this issue.

I also want to extend my support to the parents of the young 14 year old and ask that they get in touch with me to discuss this further.

I urge any young person or local resident with information to contact police on 101.
