Tuesday @ DNC

By Dawn Sweeney, President & CEO of the National Restaurant Association

Tuesday was a packed day at the Democratic Convention! We had a fabulous morning forum with Amy Walter, respected journalist and National Editor of the Cook Political Report. Her insights about the election and this week’s convention are spot on! It was standing room only and our attendees engaged in a robust discussion with Amy about a host of topics.

Similar to last week in Cleveland, we partnered with the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association to host a Restaurant Roundtable here in Philadelphia with local restaurant owners. They shared their thoughts about doing business in the City of Philadelphia, how they can get more engaged in our Kitchen Cabinet grassroots program, and strengthening our collective work with local elected officials.

Our evening viewing party at Volver drew a great crowd and featured unique Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, crab aioli French fries, and good ole’ fashioned Philadelphia water ice. What a wonderful showcase of the menu creativity and innovation of the Volver team!

We ended our evening in the Convention Hall listening to former President Bill Clinton.

These venues, experiences, and our week here in Philadelphia continue to present amazing opportunities to tell our story, the restaurant industry’s story, to all of the local, state and federal officials who are attending the Convention!

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
