We Need Your Help

According to statistics released by the Veteran’s Administration, World War II vets are now dying at a rate of approximately 492 a day. Soon they will be gone.

Our grandfathers and great grandfathers served to protect our freedoms, yet our youngest generation’s knowledge and appreciation of their sacrifice is waning. Recent research suggests that less than 20% of teenagers know what the red poppy represents, and less than 30% know that we even fought in the great wars (astonishingly, many think the great wars only exist in video games).

We want to create a social media flashmob on Anzac day (April 25) to add special meaning to the phrase ‘Lest We Forget’, with a powerful video made by a 10 year old who doesn’t want us to forget her great grandfather’s sacrifice, and a website designed for young people to learn about the sacrifices of war https://youtu.be/IrsFRMKQl3w. We will use her as an example to others in her generation to preserve the legacy of those who died for our freedom.

We are using a platform called Thunderclap to flood Facebook and Twitter on April 25th with a link to her YouTube video. Helping is easy: All you have to do is…

…and choose either “support with Twitter’ or ‘support with Facebook’ or preferably both! Then add you name to the thunderclap. On April 25th, everyone who has signed up automatically posts on Facebook and Twitter a link to our video and website.

It’s important their legacy lives on through our youngest generation. Lest we forget.

Please share.
