Could we just put to rest the idea that being ‘nice’ is an accomplishment — a feat so noteworthy as to raise you above the rest. If you are ‘nice’ then you are being exactly what most people expect from most other people. It is when they are not nice that we tend to take notice and generally avoid them. Being nice is not a ticket to anything, it doesn’t win awards, or gain you a single thing from life other than the satisfaction that you may be a mannered human being. And lets face it; if all you are offering anyone is your ‘nicety’ then why would anyone be attracted to that? Being nice is the very least we should offer another human being not the most.
