Eat Healthy, Live Healthy — Low fat foods, Weetabix

You probably know by now that too much fat is not good for your health and ideally cutting back on fat can help you consume fewer calories. Eating the right kinds of fats and in the right amounts can also help to reduce your risk of getting heart and circulatory problems.

Before anything else, it’s important to note that dietary fat is needed by the body in certain amounts. This needed amount has a very important role in how all of the fats are digested and metabolized. Lack of enough good fats intake limits the amount of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K and essential fats in your diet. These groups of fats-soluble vitamins play essential roles in vision, skin, the immune system, hormone synthesis, bone health and the nervous systems.

What do we mean by ‘good fats’ and does that mean there are ‘bad fats’? Good fats are unsaturated and are found in foods such as salmon, olive oil and certain nuts, such as peanuts and walnuts. Bad fats are saturated or trans-fats, and are found in red meat, dairy, processed foods etc.

If you’re now wondering how to start eating healthier, here are a few useful tips:
