Movie Club - “Logan Lucky”🎬

"During Charlotte’s North Carolina Coca-Cola NASCAR stock car race, two brothers attempt a heist." 🚗💰
Writing & Directing
The plot starts slowly. You begin to see the life of the main character unfold and the supporting characters develop. Nothing quite keeps your interest until the heist itself is discussed.
The director did a nice job injecting humor throughout the film and especially leveraged Daniel Craig’s aged sex appeal which earns a couple chortles from most viewers. 🤵
The final four scenes really show the strength of the writing as multiple hidden elements reveal themselves and leave the audience satisfied. ✏️
Acting
In what is supposed to be a thrilling southern action film, Channing Tatum and Adam Driver do an average job as red neck hillbillies. Riley Keough (legendary rockstar Elvis Presley’s 🎸 eldest granddaughter) makes an appearance acting as Channing’s sister.
Bright spot Daniel Craig shows his talent as he drops his normal English accent for a West Virginian drawl.
Final Thoughts
If you are in the mood for a realistic action flick that keeps you engaged, I’d recommend Logan Lucky. While there’s nothing flashy to it, and the acting was not impressive, the A list names, strong writing, and a creative ending makes the film worth while. 🌠
DISCLAIMER: The guy two seats down from me fell asleep about 75 minutes into the film. However the gentleman was likely in his 70’s so take that with a grain of salt. 😴
