Pepedapp.com -Rare Pepes on the Ethereum Blockchain- Sell Out in One Hour in “Initial Card Offering”
Yesterday, Whale Reports published an article about digital art on the blockchain, found here, and today we saw it in action. Today at 1:11pm Eastern, Pepedapp.com launched and had it’s Initial Card Offering.
Pepedapp.com is an Ethereum blockchain dapp created by @nondualrandy and @coinyeezy that celebrates the classic viral crypto meme, Pepe the Frog, by creating rare, originally designed trading cards and putting them up for sale through smart contracts on the Ethereum network.
Today they launched their first card, “The Book Of Pepe”, designed by @cryptodrawz. The sale opened at 1:11pm with 333 cards available for sale at a price of .01 ETH per card and sold out WITHIN AN HOUR!!!!
Now that these cards have been purchased, they are available to resell at the holder’s discretion. They are able to set their own sell price, and the lowest price will be shown in the marketplace.
How Do I Buy One?
Although only the genesis card is currently available, you can still purchase it. The buying and selling is completed through Meta Mask. Make sure you have MM installed on your browser and Ethereum Main-Net selected. Then you just click on the card and the buy button and you’re good to go!
How Can I Sell My Pepe?
Just go to the “My Pepe Wallet” at the top of the website. This will take you to your current inventory of Rare Pepe cards, click the “sell now” button and set your price!
How Is The Price Decided?
The secondary market price is set by the current owners of each card and the market place will show you only the lowest price available for purchase. For example, the original purchase price of “The Book of Pepe” card at launch was .01 ETH. They are currently being resold for .097 ETH. Not a bad way to almost 10x your purchase.

In summary, art on the blockchain is here and it’s a pretty damn cool concept. It was fascinating to see it in action this afternoon and I will be hodling my genesis Pepe for a long time. Who knows, maybe someday I can retire off of Rare Pepe art. What a time to be alive!
