Manhood Criminalized
Just what I was looking for … it highlights the real problem … that giving matters a little thought is a dangerous practice … and is narrated by a woman, so accusations of bias cannot be levied at it — but for all the wrong reasons. [1]

[1] This kind of half-baked reactionary thinking just engenders the continuing delusion that, in order for men to be valued in a society, there is a need for their previous roles to be held in equal regard to those of women.
In order for men to be valued in a society they need to be successful.
Wow!
Who’d’ve thought?
I wonder: do any societies regard women who fail to achieve anything as successful?
I don’t know, but I doubt that there has ever been a society that regarded a failure to achieve anything as a sign of success.
And I don’t think it makes any difference whether success or failure is achieved by a man or a woman — a success is a success and a failure … well, it needn’t be a total disaster but, at best, it isn’t a success, is it?
Nature does not reward losers: there are the quick and the dead; in the battle for survival, second is first loser — at least it is if there are only two of you … because the slowest one gets eaten.
This applies to species as well as individuals: evolve or die — losers come second … losers become extinct … right down to the last individual.
In any aspect of existance, male or female, you can only really show how powerful you are by virtue of your continuing existence … your continuing survival — you have beaten all comers, including Life itself.
You’re either alive or you’re dead.
You either came first or you got eaten.
You either adapted or became extinct.
In today’s World, we are protected from the harshest aspects of the reality endured by other species. We are at the top of the food chain. We have no natural predators. We have almost nothing to fear that isn’t human. We are the ultimate predator on this planet … even beating germs, bacteria, viruses … everything; there is nothing we can’t … and won’t … kill, given sufficient time — even if it’s only ourselves.
In today’s World, the traditional roles men were expected to fill are almost irrelevant ... except in sports … which are really only entertainment anyway — we’re all ballet dancers now.
So, what are men to do in the face of ‘The Feminist Assault’ upon their masculinity?
Well, if the message of that video is anything to go by, we’re supposed to whine that it’s not fair that, ever since we stopped cheating and stopped unfairly limiting women’s opportunities, we haven’t been as successful as we used to be, compared to women … that it’s unfair that we we have to adapt to the World in which we live … that we actually have to be men rather than traditionally masculine … powerful, rather than macho fools playing at being men, because, really, they’re not.
But a true man competes with himself, because he knows he has no need to compete with anyone else … has no need to prove what is self evident.
So what if girls/women are outperforming boys/men academically?
That does not prove that Feminism is responsible for the phenomenon, but that when they are not given equal opportunity girls/women do not show what they are capable of, whereas when they are given equal opportunity, girls/women appear to have greater ability than boys/men in certain areas.
So what if traditionally female skills (communication, etc.) are of greater value in a world protected from Reality by Technology?
That’s the world in which we live today and those are the skills that are necessary in it.
I’m a man and I’m not disadvantaged by it.
As a child and teenager, I was incredibly active and involved myself in a great number of sporting activities — I was good at them.
As an adult I have always been extremely physically active — even if that only entailed dancing like a maniac at weekends for some portions of it, it was all weekend, every weekend.
So, the traditional male activites that centre around the physical realm are not merely not unknown to me, but instead I am intimate with them — I have always enjoyed them.
Fun though they are, however, I don’t need to be involved in physically challenging activities in order to feel that I am a man, because, how I feel about my gender role is irrelevant — I was born male … I am, therefore, a man.
I am also degree educated in Science subjects … again, quintessentially masculine — and it doesn’t come much more cliched than Computer Science, does it?
But my other subject was Psychology … in the traditionally feminine field of the so called social sciences — albeit I was awarded a Bachelor of Science, rather than Arts, at the end.
I speak four languages — again a field that is, traditionally, regarded as female dominated.
I’m not the only one … I’m not the best of them … but like all those other men who looked at the World around them and chose the optimal survival strategy I made myself fit to survive in a world in which others would fail — by being adaptable … by pursuing both traditionally masculine avenues of activity as well as those less traditionally so, requiring a more traditionally feminine skillset.
If you want to be an example of the traditional maculine traits of strength, fortitude, stamina, power etc. … it needn’t necessarily be aggressive or violent to be powerful … then take on the World and be successful in it.
Adapt and survive, regardless of the cost … regardless of the loss of your fathers’ roles in their worlds.
Because Nature doesn’t care if you wear a dress at the office … only whether there’s food on your table.
You aren’t your fathers and you don’t live in their worlds — their roles are irrelvant to you.
Be men … succeed despite an even playing field … or even an uneven one.
So, sperm banks mean women don’t need men to procreate, the World doesn’t require previously traditional masculine functions to be performed by men in preference to women and men are doomed to wonder what their role in Life is.
If men are truly facing a problem in the World merely by virtue of being men then the problem we face as men is not a lack of respect for our place in the World, but a lack of direction … and so long as we cling to outmoded paradigms we ourselves, not Feminism, doom ourselves to obsolesence.
As a man, where does that leave me?
I can’t say that I’m bothered by it all — I have acquired the skills required to survive under Patriarchy, Matriarchy, a confused mixture of both or neither, so I’m not bothered either way.
If I have one complaint about my role in Life as a man it’s this …
I am not needed in order to continue the species — we have IVF.
I am not needed to plough fields, carry heavy loads, or catch dinner — we have technology for that.
Given that my traditional roles are obsolete, women are better at everything else anyway … and are, supposedly, positively advantaged even if they’re not … and I am not needed for the continued survival of the species, my only function in this world is as a sex toy.
So, why aren’t I one, dammit!?!
Why isn’t some successful woman keeping me in the manner to which I’d so like to become accustomed, whilst I murmer pillow talk in her ear?
<sigh>
Next lifetime, if there is one, I’m coming back as a high-class escort!
