Sound Advice

… I think we’d all agree.

Don’t tease the octopus” … words to live by.

A bit ‘home spun’ perhaps … a bit ‘folksy’ … but a pragmatic philosophy for Life nevertheless; after all … did any good ever come of teasing the octopus?

I rest my case.

In fact, I can hear them in Homer’s voice as I write this:

Cat in the furnace …

… tease the octopus.

À propos of which …

Also, it sounds like it might be a euphemism: “How about it, darlin’ … what say we tease the octopus, you and I?”. It sounds like it might be something a bit ‘dirty’, doesn’t it? The kind of thing you can imagine Captain Jack Sparrow saying with a glint in his eye.

Philosophical and euphemistic … octopussies … the gifts that keep on giving.
