As 2015 comes to a close, I am excited to share that 20,000,000 people are creating, consuming and sharing Whispers every month.

  • The number one most-searched and most-used word on Whisper: Love.
  • Whisper users are in 187 countries.
  • Whisper has over one million app opens an hour and over 10 billion monthly page views.
  • More than half a billion Hearts have been showered by our community.

We see amazing love stories happen through Whisper every single day.

We have Lauren and Eric, who met through Whisper. Their wedding theme?

We have Steve, who used Whisper to give advice on love. In the process, Steve found love, himself.

But we also see love displayed in countless other ways on Whisper.

Through empathy.

Through humor.

Through bravery.

Through being unabashedly unfiltered.

Sometimes, it may seem like the sun will never shine again.

Through our non-profit arm Your Voice, we are working to eliminate the stigma around mental health.

Since we launched Your Voice three years ago, we’ve referred over 70,000 Whisper community members to the National Suicide Lifeline.

At a time when “Finstagram” exists, bright young people quit social media because of pressure, and people compare their ‘behind the scenes’ to others’ ‘highlight reels’, Whisper serves as a home for every single person who wants to be silly, real, quirky, honest, awkward, raw, less lonely, and most of all…

Simply loved for who they are.

However, we would not have made it this far without:

Our silly, real, quirky, beautiful Whisper community of 20,000,000 and counting.

Our wonderful Whisper team, whose unwavering commitment to responsible authenticity impresses me everyday.

And as we round out another year in Whisper’s journey, I am thrilled to share the top 15 Whispers of 2015:

I am loving every step of our wild journey. Can’t wait for what’s ahead for us.
